Students must be present for at least 66% of the school day to be counted present. Please keep this in mind when scheduling doctors’ appointments or checking students out early.

Absences may be excused up to five (5) times a semester when a parent or legal guardian submits a written note or a doctor’s excuse. Only three (3) parent notes are allowed each semester, with each note covering one day of absence. After a student’s third absence, a doctor’s note is required for any additional absences to be considered excused.

All parent or doctor’s notes must be submitted within five (5) school days of the student’s return and should include: the student’s name, date of absence, reason for the absence, parent/guardian’s name, phone number, and signature.

Excessive Absences: 

Three (3) days- Parent contact

 Five (5) days- Reported to State Attendance Officer/Parent Contact

Twelve (12) days- Administrative Review, 50/F in all classes missed for the year. Students will also be required to attend Saturday School to make up for missed instructional time; otherwise, they will be retained the next school year.
