    Colleges Attended—University of Southern Mississippi

    Degrees—BA in English Literature

& M.S. in Speech Language Pathology

My Family—Patricia (wife) and Leopold Bloom (cat)

My Favorites—I love food, coffee, art, and books.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, playing music, and cooking.

Why I chose Speech—I have always been fascinated with language and stories.  The stories that we tell about our lives and ourselves; the stories that we tell about our loved ones; the stories that we create—these are what define us.  I chose the field of speech-language pathology because I want to help students tell their stories and help to mold the way in which they can communicate themselves to the world around them.

    Ms. Rylee Foster

My Education: I received my BA in Speech and Hearing Sciences & M.S. in Speech Language Pathology from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Why I Chose Speech: I love helping students understand and reach their full potential. It is a privilege to watch a student accomplish a goal that they have been working so hard on to master. As a Speech Therapist, I have the unique opportunity to encourage students to "talk back" and find new ways to communicate. I believe that communication is the basic foundation of life.

About Me: I love to travel and try new foods. I love any and all sour candy. In my time away from school, I am an assistant coach for GCUFC (soccer). I enjoy reading and taking my dog for long walks.

    Ms. Kim Bowlin

Hello! I am the EL (English Learner) teacher here at Back Bay Elementary.  I have taught High School Spanish for 13 years, Elementary Spanish for 1 year, and EL/ESL for 7 years.  I have my BA in Spanish (K-12) with an ESL endorsement from the University of Southern Mississippi.  I love working with our English learners here because I want to make a difference by helping them to not only learn another language, but also to assimilate to a new culture.  Our ELs receive English language support through the domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  I love to help them through lively, varied, and engaging approaches that are appropriate for their grade and level of English knowledge.  Students also develop their social and cultural skills as they go through meaningful explorations of the cultures of their classmates, as well as develop their own deep appreciation of being bilingual!

I am the proud mom of a daughter, Meredith, and a son, Colton.  We have two kitties, Luna and Hershey and love to watch funny movies and go get ice cream!
